Building Brand & Creative Operations at Scale
The Challenge
Cloudinary is a global SaaS media platform serving 4M+ developers and marketers. At that scale, brand isn't a single deliverable, it's a system that has to hold together across marketing, product, sales, and customer-facing touchpoints simultaneously, without slowing any of them down.
My Role
I lead brand and creative strategy end-to-end for the company, reporting directly to the CMO. I direct an integrated team of designers, animators, and producers, plus global agency partners, and own brand governance across every marketing, digital, and product touchpoint. I partner closely with GTM, Product Marketing, Growth, Web, Sales, UX, and Exec Leadership to align creative output with business objectives.
The Approach
- Brand & Growth Strategy - own end-to-end brand governance and creative operations, driving measurable increases in engagement, retention, and enterprise pipeline growth
- Brand Identity Leadership - led an end-to-end brand redesign, developing a modular, extensible visual identity system built to scale across every platform touchpoint as the company grows
- Team & Resource Leadership - lead an integrated team of designers, animators, and producers, alongside global agency partners, balancing creative excellence with capacity planning and budget oversight
- Website & UX Design - direct user-friendly, conversion-focused web experiences and digital journeys
- Video & Storytelling - oversee video and animation for campaigns, social, and internal communication
- Cross-Functional Integration - ensure brand consistency across marketing automation, CMS, CRM, and in-product UX, bridging external campaigns with internal product narratives

Why It Matters
This is executive-level brand stewardship, not project-level design work: governing a single, coherent brand across a platform used by 4M+ people, while sitting close enough to the CMO and cross-functional leadership to shape business strategy directly. The scale here — team, platform reach, and the range of functions brand has to touch — is what defines the difference between a senior designer and a creative executive.
